NatureBridge™

One way Klean Kanteen works to promote core values of health, sustainability, and environmental stewardship is by partnering with like-minded organizations who are actively working toward common goals. One such organization is NatureBridge, a non-profit that has been working to provide educational opportunities in our country's national parks since 1971.

NatureBridge programs introduce environmental and scientific themes and concepts through guided scientific exploration and experiential learning programs designed to be interactive and interdisciplinary. By educating a new generation about the environment and instilling a love of the outdoors in our youth, NatureBridge helps to educate the children who will be tomorrow's leaders, the people who will decide how we treat our environment.

With campuses acroess the country, NatureBridge programs include field science education for schools and other groups, adult education, teen leadership programs, summer day camp, and conference and retreat facilities. Their field science programs take students into outdoor settings and into the realm of hands-on learning, teamwork, personal discovery, and educational adventure.

Armstrong Scholars Program

Joie ArmstrongWe support the values and mission of NatureBridge by donating money to help fund the Armstrong Memorial Scholarship. Inspired by former instructor and Chico State University grad, Joie Armstrong, the Armstrong Scholars Program brings young women, ages 15 to 18, together for a summer backpacking adventure and educational experience in the spectacular High Sierra.

Programs such as the Armstrong Memorial Scholarship educate, inspire, and build community while promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable living. At Klean Kanteen, we believe in the profound power of building strong connections between people and the Planet, and we're proud to be an integral part of NatureBridge and the Armstrong Memorial Scholarship.

We've also participated in the Armstrong Scholars "re-supply", with employees and representatives of Klean day-hiking in to the High Sierra, bringing food, water, and other supplies to the group of young women part way through their extended backpacking trip. More than just logistical support, the re-supply provides an important spiritual and emotional lift, with fresh faces, stories, and smiles to greet the girls along their journey. See photos below.
