Klean Kanteen Shares the Reusable Experience with Festy

Festy Photo GalleryWe teamed up the The Festy Experience to bring reusable solutions to Central Virginia, where we replaced tens of thousands of plastic cups with our durable Steel Pints. Kudos to the Infamous Stringdusters, who help organize the event, for their efforts to reduce the waste at this fabulous three-day music festival. Attendees received a special edition Kanteen Steel Pint, featuring the Festy logo, with their paid weekend admission. They could also purchased the pint cups, which were used for beer (and other beverages) all weekend long. We hope festival-goers enjoy their pints for decades to come. The reusable cups helped eliminated the use of more than 15,000 single-use plastic cups! We were proud to work with this amazing festival and continue to spread the message of sustainability to other events, helping reducing single-use, one reusable pint and Kanteen at a time...

About Festy

In August of 2009, The Infamous Stringdusters played the Brew Ridge Trail Music Festival on the ground of Devil's Backbone Brewery in Nelson County, VA.  The Stringdusters had been discussing the possibility of creating a festival and it became obvious that the location in Nelson was perfect for the type of festival that the band wanted to create, at this idyllic camping location in the Blue Ridge Mountains. When The Stringdusters returned to Charlottesville later that fall to record their album "Things That Fly", the began planning what became The Festy Experience. Like with many new ventures, there was a challenge coming up with the right name for the proposed event.  The group used the place-holder "The Festy" (a common and generic term used to describe a festival) to refer to the event until a proper name was generated.  At the same time, it became apparent to the partners that creating the right "experience" was going to be essential to the success and sustainability of the event.  As planning continued, the name The Festy Experience took hold…and the rest is history.
