Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good! I bought my two kids and I new sports caps. We had the old versions and my 3 year old son had even destroyed his mouthpiece by a bad chewing habit. I loved that we got to pick out colors. It makes the kids more invested in their water bottle and apt to drink more! We got them just before our spring break trip to the Oregon coast and on the long card ride I was pleased with the way they don't leak when properly closed. What I love the most, and might sound silly, but is how much gulp factor I get per pull...if that makes sense! When I'm thirsty, in dance class or between classes I just need to get water down the hatch and I love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good cap and great gift idea I ordered this cap alongside an insulated 12 oz bottle and have enjoyed it so far. I might offer a suggestion to improve the cap. I tend to use the bottle and cap alongside a small pack that I carry daily. I don't carry a purse because of issues with my hip and my pack has a pocket for the water bottle. One day, I had a sip of water and did not properly close the cap, causing it to spill on my pack. I would suggest perhaps an indicator on the cap to show that its closed; maybe a white line under the tip, where it meets with the rest of the cap so when its closed, the line disappears and vice versa. Unless you push down on the tip of the cap, then you are not sure whether it is fully closed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Silicone sport cap is terrible, especially for kids! I bought one of the older Kleen Kanteen's that had the all plastic spout with lid many years ago and never had a problem, it was amazing! I decided to buy 4 more for the rest of my family and unfortunately they were the silicone ones. After about a year of my kids opening the lid with their mouths (because it would be unsanitary to open it with their dirty hands and drink from it), 2 out of 4 silicone spouts have completely come off. Now, they have to take off the lid just to drink from it. I wish they would make the all plastic ones with the lids! I'm deciding wether to get another brand, like the Life Factory with active flip cap, or just replace the Kleen Kanteen sport cap with their loop cap. For kids, it's always better to have a flip cap, though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful We have an older kind that is all plastic and we LOVE it. But these newer silicone ones are awful. Not only are they difficult to open, food gets inside the top hole, there is gunk around the part that goes down inside when you close it (and no matter how much I try it won't come clean!), and the top silicone part is tearing after only being used for less than a year. Although disappointed to not find the same lid we had, we had high hopes for these. But we have been seriously disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sport Cap 3.0 I'm very disappointed with this new cap & very sorry I wasted money to purchase 3 of them. I have more than a dozen Klean Kanteen bottles that my family loves with the old sports caps. The only problem we had with the old ones was the noise when we drank & while these new ones don't make that noise they steadily leak & are much more difficult to clean. I was able to lay the old ones down to stack them in a small fridge & assumed I'd be able to do the same with the new ones but I cannot lay them down at all due to steady leaking & have to use q-tips to clean them. So much for the claim of being improved. I had to give one star for the rating only because it wouldn't allow my post without it, but these do not deserve even one star

Rated 1 out of 5 by from All Caps Leak I have a sport cap, sippy cap, and loop cap, all of which I've tried on a 12 oz kids bottle and 40 oz bottle. Unless I close them so tight that they're very hard to reopen, they all often leak. On three occasions I ended up with a handbag / tote bag / shopping bag with water sloshing around inside, all contents soaked. This is not including the multiple other times I caught leaks before they got that bad. I'm not weak, always close the lid to a normal tightness but leaking often occurs unless I close the lids super tight. Will not repurchase.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Plastic wears off inside and gets in mouth! I loved this cap. It was completely leak proof and keeps the water inside fresh. But...after using it for a few months, I took a sip and felt something in my mouth so I spat out the water. It was a long piece of latex-like black plastic that had worn off of the inside of the cap mouth piece. Absolutely repulsive!!! I wish the cap was made of the same solid plastic as the original lid so this didn't happen. I have two classic bottles and bought the sport cap for each of them and it has happened to both.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Caps smell weird after washing I have both the older and new sports caps. I wash them both in the dishwasher and then rinse thoroughly through the nipple to make sure. But now They impart a nasty taste to the water in the bottle. And it isn't the bottle because I can drink directly from it and it tastes fine. I also soaked both caps in lemon juice, baking soda and hot water to see if that will get rid of the odor/taste. No luck.
