DisappointedI bought this to comliment a other 1/2 liter thermos to carry both coffee and tea. It seemed to lose heat faster then my 20 year old vacuum thermos. I did a side by side test. Starting with a full thermos of 200 degrees F water in a 68 degree room, cap screwed on top, I checked at 10 hours. TKPro was at 150 degrees and my old one was at 163 degrees. At 20 hours the TKPro was down to 129 degrees. I would not call this hot at 20 hours as stated. The old thermos went 24 hours to reach the same 120 degrees.
With half the contents removed at 4 hours the performance was worse. A drink at mid morning would not leave a hot beverage at lunch time. The cap feels warmer than I would expect. The source of the heat loss?

Doesn't keep it that hot that long.I use it for my coffee. First I pour 2-3 inches of boiling water in it and set the cap on without screwing it down. In about 10 minutes I dump it out and fill it with hot coffee. An hour later the coffee is not quite hot, very warm, but not as hot as when I put it in the thermos. By afternoon the 2-3 inches of coffee left in the thermos is cool. I seem to recall that it is advertised as keeping hot liquids hot for much longer. What's wrong? Does it have to be completely full? Am I incorrectly pre-heating it with the boiling water?

Looks goodThis is second purchased. First for a gift. This one for self. Quality of the materials and workmanship is #1. Great design for ease of cleaning so no worries when using sweetened creamers.
The purpose of this purchase was to have a reasonably warm cup of coffee mid afternoon. If the bottle doesn't retain the heat indoors, it certainly will not meet my requirements outside in the cold. Am disappointed in the heat retention properties of the bottle. After 7 hours, the coffee was not even drinkable warm for me.

Nice design, works really well (but see my review)I love my TKPro. I make tea or coffee at 6am and drink it in my office at 8:30, after an hour walk in the New England cold and an hour commute. It is a joy to have a hot beverage right when I get in.
I preheat the bottle with hot water while I boil the water for my tea or heat it for coffee. I can verify that it stays hot for 3+ hours.
However, there seems to be a problem with the manufacturing - the first one I purchased did not keep my beverage hot at all. I contacted warranty folks at Klean Kanteen, though, and returned the defective one for another one that works perfectly. So if you're having issues with it not keeping your beverages hot at all, contact the warranty folks.
I'm not sure that it could stay as warm as I'd like for more than 4 hours, but 4 hours would pretty much be the maximum I need.

Works as expected, few caveats.Product functions as a thermos. I do enjoy having a fully SS (no plastic) insulated bottle. I did some testing with the bottle for temp retention and it works as well as a thermos, provided you preheat (both were preheated). Make sure to preheat the screw cap as well since it is not plastic, it will cause a rapid initial temp drop if not preheated.
A few notes on the design.
The screw cap has a ring/gasket which has a gap (so it is 2 "flaps") in it at the bottom. This is done so when screwed down it will seal against the inner lip. I wonder if long term this will become harder to clean. There is also a lip that is in the bottom center of the same ring/gasket (probably to deter you from pushing the ring too far). This does trap liquid under it, so probably needs to be removed and washed every time.
The rims of the bottle (and cup) are squared off. This has had the effect of causing the tea/water to have a few drops that run along the outside of the bottle when you stop pouring.
Notes : Lid will take 8 oz of liquid if you fill it to the brim.

Not great for cold weatherI used this ski touring in Siberia, Russia hoping that it would keep tea warm/hot on very cold days. Even in mild temps, -9c, tea was barely luke warm after a few hours. In very cold temps, -15c, tea was cold in a couple hours.

Room for improvementWhat should I say? I wanted a thermos without any plastic parts, at least without any plastic touching my beverage at any point, and I finally found one.
Looks and feels well made, and does keep my coffee warm, though of course not the promised 20 hours (5 is more like it).
But the pour is messy, at least once you have to angle it downwards for the second cup, and it's impossible to remove the plug without the silicone stopper spraying coffee/contents in the direction you're pulling.
It's the best plastic free thermos out there, if only for a lack of alternatives.

Great idea, but with a design flawI want to love this as the style and idea re great, but it drips every time after you pour yourself a cup. You have to have a napkin around after every pour to clean up the drops which is super annoying, especially when you are remote and have nothing.
