Leaks A LOT - did I get a defective cap or mug, or both?
I was happy to discover this insulated mug, because it was small, it could fit in my hand bag, and it was a wide mouth mug. Additionally I loved the matte neptune blue option. However, it soaked and ruined the contents of my bag the first time I used it. I was lucky that it was only water. At first I thought it was my fault, and made sure I tightened the lid was on correctly, but it continued to leak. It bothers me that it was so expensive, yet it couldn't seal better than the cheaper stainless steel bottles I have on hand.

So in love with this mug
I've owned my fair share of reusable mugs that all promised to keep my coffee hot or my water cold. None have preformed like my beloved Klean Kanteen, not even the wildly pricey brands that also make fancy coolers. My Klean Kanteen fits perfectly in all cup holders and keeps coffee piping hot for HOURS. I even took it with me for a below zero snowshoe around the Adirondacks, even after multiple drops in snowbanks (to allow for snowshoe adjustments) it stayed hot. Plus it's adorable and I show it off whenever I stop in a coffee shop for a refill. So far I have saved at least 50 disposable cups by bringing my own.

Love, Love, Love!
I have used Klean Kanteens for many years and they are just wonderful! I own many sizes and colors and they are well made and are almost impossible to damage. I ordered several of the 12 ounce size and they are perfect for the short trip or to set on the bedside table at night, for when when you wake up with a thirst. They are easy to clean and easy to fill and would make the perfect gift! My only complaint is that I wish we had a choice of caps. The loop cap is only available on the brushed steel kanteen and must be purchased separately on all other colors. Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints!

Use my 12 oz insulated Klean Kanteen with the cafe lid almost daily. Lost my old one for a few weeks and it totally messed up my coffee game. Bought a new one, and of course found my “lost” one a few days later. But I'm not complaining! Nice to have a back up. Coffee stays hot, but if it's not full it doesn't stay hot as long. The lid works well too, but it's not *fully* leak-proof like the standard lids. If it's on it's side for a few mins it will start to leak through, so you can't just throw it in a bag. But it still works great!

Gifting Made Easy for Us Eco-conscious Minimalists
We purchased about a dozen of the insulated mugs for Christmas gifts this year. They all loved them and were excited to know how durable they were since most had stories of failed travel mugs from their past. We got everyone a different color which will come in handy at our family camping events. It was great giving a gift we can stand by since we've been using Klean Kanteen's in various forms for well over 8+ years. So long we can't remember life without them! It also felt good that our gifting aligned with our values, we avoided the holiday shopping frenzy, and everyone appreciated them. Thanks Klean Kanteen for providing stellar products and service. And thanks for helping us enjoy our holiday season!

Love These!
I have two of these. I use them to brew long-steeping teas in so they stay nice and hot. I use them for chai tea and hot cocoa on the go, and I have also used them for soup, chili, and mac-and-cheese. Though not as often, I have also used them for keeping dairy cold (milk, sour cream, yogurt parfaits) and things like hummus and carrot sticks cold. I find they work better full of liquids or semi-liquids (either hot or cold) than with just stuff in them (yogurt versus carrot sticks). But they have definitely met my needs on a million occasions, not just for coffee. They also travel really well. I always have one in my luggage, sometimes full of something cold, and it is always perfectly fine by the time I land and unpack.

Not Leak Proof (12 oz)
There are a lot of insulated bottles for sale these days. Klean Kanteen seems to me to do an average job as far as insulation- not significantly better or worse compared to the other major brands. In my mind, the only other significant differentiating factors are price and if they leak. KK's price point is not a positive and this 12 oz version I have leaks significantly. I'm sure the company is full of great people with great hearts, but this product sucks.

Leaks hot bevareges
I can't give this expensive flask anymore than 2 stars if it leaks hot liquids. It looks nice, keeps temperature, excellent marketing... but it LEAKS! A $5 bottle from the supermarket has a better seal than this. It's a design fault - the lip is too thin and doesn't have enough surface area to form a secure seal with the flimsy silicone gasket in the cap. Pressure that builds up in the hot flask while being lugged around and unintentionally shaken, will break the seal every time and leaks hot liquid in your bag.
