Must have over flip lid! But…

"The slide lid was something I enjoyed similar to what Yeti made. This design looks nicer and does the job keeping liquids compared to the flip lid, but upon closing the slide, I almost always get a backsplash of leftover liquids shooting straight in the air (sometimes to the face) because the slide form fits to the lid so well! If the water could get channeled elsewhere, it would be a solid design. I still recommended it though, since the flip lid is such a weak design."

New lid greatly improved over the original (inadequate) lid. It is pricey.

"The new tumbler lid is a vast improvement to the original which had a massive opening that would regularly spill on anyone trying to drink from it. I reached out Klean Kanteen about the old lid shortly after getting my tumbler because of this issue and unfortunately, there was no other lid available at that time. The tumbler is of top quality but the poorly designed lid made me put it back on the shelf. I could not risk spilling coffee on my shirt during the drive to work - nor while at my desk. Those in my family who tried it unfortunately had the same experience. It is good that a re-design addressed this issue but at nearly $15 I am quite displeased with the cost I had to spend for the new lid. I only ordered the new lid because the tumbler sat in my cupboard unused. My son has the same tumbler and defective lid, but I doubt he will opt to spend $15 for a fix. IMO Klean Kanteen should have offered a reasonable discount to those who purchased the tumbler with the original defective lid, or provided it to them for free."

Big improvement - love this lid

"I just got my Rise Slide Lid and it is a major improvement over the lid that originally came with my 16 oz Rise Tumbler. For one thing, the lid is much more substantial. More importantly, the slide mechanism does a far better job of providing access to drink from the tumbler without spilling coffee on me. It is splash-proof but not completely spill proof (see my dog below), but I've never found a mug/lid that is completely spill proof. I love my Rise Tumbler because it is a travel mug with a wide opening that allows me to savor the smell of my coffee as I am drinking it at the table. But I had gone back to my TK Wide when I needed a mug to take with me in the car because it was more secure for drinking from while in motion. With this new Rise Slide Lid, I can now be comfortable using the Rise Tumbler as a true travel mug, as well. One interesting note is that the small Rise Slide Lid not only fits my 16 oz Rise Tumbler but it also fits my 12 oz Camp Mug, which is nice because it reduces spillage if I put my mug down on the coffee table and my little monster of a wire fox terrier decides to spill the contents while "inspecting" the mug. 😂"
